Introduction to FIBC Types
FIBCs are classified into four main types (A, B, C, and D) based on their electrostatic properties and the level of protection they provide against static electricity. Understanding these types is crucial for safe material handling.
Type A FIBCs
Type A bags are made from plain polypropylene or polyethylene fabric without any static dissipative features. They are suitable for non-flammable products in non-flammable environments.
Type B FIBCs
Type B bags have a low breakdown voltage that prevents propagating brush discharges. They offer additional safety for handling dry, flammable powders in certain conditions.
Type C FIBCs
Type C bags are made from non-conductive fabric interwoven with conductive threads. They must be grounded during filling and emptying to safely dissipate static electricity.
Type D FIBCs
Type D bags are manufactured from static dissipative fabric that safely dissipates static electricity without requiring grounding, making them highly versatile for various applications.
